If you spend hours each day in front of a computer screen you may experience some symptoms of computer eyestrain:
Researchers have discovered that viewing words on the computer screen is different than viewing words on a printed page. On the computer screen, the pixel-based letters are sharpest in the center and fuzzier around the edges. As your eyes attempt to focus on the letters, they constantly move to what is called the Resting Point of Accommodation (RPA). This movement can cause eyestrain. At Fortney Eyecare Associates, our Optometrists are experienced in determining your optimum intermediate viewing and can then prescribe the appropriate eyewear that will allow you to focus comfortably on the computer screen.
